On April 7th at 7pm, Whirled Pies will be hosting a live music show featuring Hardwood Heart all the way from Missoula, Montana. Holding it down for the Eugene local music scene is the dynamic folk/rock band, Pitchwood, and the classic rock trio, Midnight Strobelight. The venue is sure to be buzzing with excitement as these three bands take the stage and showcase their unique sounds. Fans can expect to hear a mix of folk, rock, and indie tunes, all played with a raw energy and passion that is sure to get the crowd moving. NATSUKASHII SOUL are a 5-piece funk/acid jazz band from Eugene, OR. Killer vocals by Autumn Rose and top-notch trumpet work by Frank Visconti, backed by the rhythm section of Vince Panero, Milo Brosamer, and Elijah Wojcik. Natsukashii is the Japanese word pointing at the feeling you get when a sense (taste or smell usually) evokes a fond memory from your past. … But natsukashii – which derives from the verb “natsuku”, which means “to keep close and become fond of” – indicates joy and gratitude for the past rather than a desire to return to it. Brown Stallion is a Ween tribute band out of Portland and Eugene, Oregon. Made up of seasoned musicians that are truly Ween fans, their shows draw from the full catalogue of Ween songs that are imbued with the spirit of the Boognish. The band pays great attention to detail in recreating the songs, drawing heavily on Ween’s live performances and anchored by Deaner inspired guitar chops.
