Jammin’ with the Pros, hosted by vocalist Dona Clarke, is the longest running
jazz jam in the Eugene/Springfield area. It features some of the most
experienced and talented local jazz musicians and jammers.
Dona began the jam in 2018 and the jam has grown into a wonderful community
gathering of jazz lovers. We have a new home at Whirled Pies every 1st and 3rd
Wednesday of the month.
For each jam Dona puts together a rhythm section trio chosen from a rotation of
eight local, seasoned professionals for your jamming and listening pleasure.
Tonight’s pros are Jon Brex, Michael Anderson, and Carlito Perez.
Experienced, skilled musicians & vocalists are invited to sit in. Vocalists – please
bring 4 copies of charts in your key.
Every jam is different, and each one serves up a great night of live jazz –
and there is pizza, good food, and a full bar involved!

Teachers (and former students) of Eugene, Oregon! Celebrate your weekend with the comedy of a teacher who couldn’t cut it – Cory Michaelis. After 12 years of teaching high school, Mr. Michaelis decided drunken hecklers were easier to deal with than students. Come see two class periods worth of mostly teacher/student material relatable to anyone who has ever been in a classroom. Non-teachers and teachers alike will love this show!

From Grapes to Mushrooms: The Farm Workers’ Rights Movement in Oregon 1965-2025
Seattle based guitarist Andy Coe (ACB, Skerik Band, McTuff) and drummer D’Vonne Lewis (Digable Planets, McTuff, Industrial Revelation) join forces with Portland keyboardist Galen Clark (Outer Orbit, Trio Subtonic, Sleater-Kinney) for a blend of pocket heavy organ trio funk and psychedelic mind bending groove music. The resulting sound fuses high energy synth bass heavy funk and experimental electronic tinged jazz.
Seattle native D’Vonne Lewis is a multi-award winning drummer who has toured, performed and/or recorded with Digable Planets; Macklemore and Ryan Lewis; Stone Gossard of Pearl Jam; Wynton Marsalis and the Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra; Christian McBride; George Porter of the Funky Meters; Skerik and many other national and international artists.
Based in Seattle, guitarist Andy Coe has performed in festivals around the world and many bands throughout the years including Rashied Ali Quintet, McTuff, Clinton Fearon and Boogie Brown Band, Skerik’s Bandalabra, Skerik Band, Robert Walter’s 20th Congress, Andy Coe Band, Tuatara, Barrett Martin Group, Wil Blades Trio and many more.
Galen Clark is a keyboardist, songwriter, producer based in Portland, OR. He leads the soul funk collective Outer Orbit and the groove heavy genre bending band Trio Subtonic and tours with Anna Tivel and Sleater- Kinney.

Placing no boundaries on eras of the Dead’s career or catalog, and drawing on decades of individual and shared experience, GBB play the music through an auditory kaleidoscope. Composed of some of the most ace players of the Oregon live music community, the band makes every show an act of exploration, both musically and spiritually. United hearts and minds blur the line between the stage and crowd – a carnival of human potential. If you’re new to Garcia Birthday Band, their doors are always open, and you’ll recognize it as something familiar when you first walk in: home.
