Mike Saskor has been playing guitar in bands throughout Seattle and the PNW for over 20 years. Locally he was the guitarist of Olympic Sound Collective (OSC), Rai, Altered States of Funk, Salem, Toadstool, as well as subbing for various artists as a first call sit-in when needed, whether live or in the studio. He first learned the guitar at the University of Maine, forming bands and playing in clubs and festival around New England before moving out to Seattle in the early 90’s. His style focuses on a blend of jazz, funk and blues with a heavy emphasis on improvisational skill. Mike has played throughout the Northwest and beyond, including seven tours in Alaska with Salem and Swindler, and has played most major clubs and festivals throughout the PNW and beyond.
Chris has been studying drums since the age of 8. His sharp instincts for group improv and natural feel for groove have fostered a distinct style on the kit that is the foundation of Swindler. Having been a fixture on the Seattle music scene for the last 15 years, he has performed with a variety of musicians and bands such as Leif Totusek, Rai, PK & What Army, Altered States of Funk & Mother’s Milk.
Willow plays multiple keyboards in the group and is influenced heavily by jazz and improvisational music. He has developed an arsenal of sonic weapons and keyboard wizardry and provides textural backdrops, menacing funky clav riffs, percussive organ, and punchy Rhodes.
The Canadian moved to Seattle in 2011 to pursue a music career and after receiving his Master’s Degree in Film Scoring, orchestrates for various northwest orchestras and west coast theaters. He composes and arranges originals and mixes audio for the band.
When he is not practicing, teaching, listening or performing music he enjoys crosswords and coffee.
Rob Cochran was born and raised in Auburn, Alabama. His love for music started at an early age. He found his true love, the bass, when he started studying jazz at the age of 14. Continuing his education, Rob studied music theory and he attended bass camps at the Berklee College of Music and the Victor Wooten Bass/Nature Camp. These camps had a huge impact on his development as a bass player. He has been playing professionally since the age of 18, and has been in multiple bands from Jazz to Rock to Hip Hop. Robert moved to Seattle at the age of 20 and helped form Swindler soon after.
