Robert Meade’s a singer/songwriter, solo acoustic musician who’s been living and performing throughout the Northwest area for over a decade. His brand of upbeat Rhythm ‘n’ Blues & Americana music channels some of rock’s greatest souls in his raw, vulnerable lyricism and playing. It’s bound to lift the spirit!

Since their beginnings in 2003, Eugene’s Uncle Stumbles have grown beyond the “first impression” of their name… over ten years later, the name Uncle Stumbles reminds us that each of us stumbles and trips every once and a while-and your friends cover your back. Uncle Stumbles plays late ’60’s style rock and roll with an Americana tinge. An honest exploratory music that draws from influences as broad as Frank Zappa, to Stravinsky to the Grateful Dead, Uncle Stumbles continues to impress and win over crowds wherever they play. Uncle Stumbles plays to the moment, whatever that may be, often surprising themselves in the process.

Drummer Mike Clark cut his teeth playing in Eugene back in the 90’s. Clark is one of those rare drummers that plays to the front of the music ala Elvin Jones and the Meters’ Joseph Modeleste.
Drums are a solo instrument in Mike’s playing, the beat and groove are trusted and implied in this unique style.

Anthony Forcellini has written the lion’s share of original material for Uncle Stumbles. Forcellini studied saxophone for 13 years including studying at the Berklee College of Music in Boston before switching to guitar for the Detroit area band Resurgency in the late 1980’s. Anthony is also the lead guitar player in the Garcia tribute band Cap’n Trips.

Ryan Galas studied music at LCC as well as playing in Figure It Out and Innerstate. Ryan’s bass playing is heavy on “linear” line playing in the style of Phil Lesh. He also plays upright bass in the roots group the Wainwright Brothers.

Dylan Shock’s first word was guitar. He has been playing for over half his life, approaching a musical intuition and vocabulary of one much older than his years. He started performing publicly with Anthony Forcellini in the Americana duo Dylan and Anthony.

Over the years, members of Uncle Stumbles have opened for the Cast of Clowns, Clinton Fearon, George Porter, The Zen Tricksters, The Bridge, Jefferson Starship, Big Brother and the Holding Company, and Quicksilver Messenger Service. They have also been involved in fundraising for community radio stations KRVM and KSOW-LP. Come on down and visit everyone’s favorite uncle sometime. You never know what might happen.

Diving Antarctica: Exploring the Underwater Ecosystems of the Southern Ocean

With Paul North, Polar Expedition Diver & Director of Meet the Ocean

In the cold, dark waters of the Southern Ocean exists a biological landscape unlike any other on our planet. It begins with a density of single-celled algae so large they can be seen from space. Next, come the krill, an army of crustaceans bent on harvesting the photosynthetic organisms that cloud the water. What then eats the krill? The answer is basically all the creatures that call Antarctica home.

In this talk, polar expedition diver Paul North will journey through the trophic levels of the Antarctic food web. Exampling macro dive footage of the invertebrates that dominate the sea floor. Plankton filmed in the water column and under microscope. R.O.V. footage from depths of 300+ feet, swimming penguins, and predatory encounters with several different marine mammal species. All to highlight the resiliency and unexpectedness of the Southern Ocean ecosystem, so that we may better understand and protect it.

Paul North is the director of Meet the Ocean – an educational nonprofit devoted to educating the public on the importance of our planet’s saltwater ecosystems. He has logged over 200 dives in the Southern Ocean working as Undersea Specialist with Lindblad Expeditions & National Geographic. Combining storytelling and science, Meet the Ocean releases a monthly podcast to blend education with entertainment to awaken audiences to the realities facing the oceans of our planet.

Caroline releases her 2015 and 9th CD: BROKEN WINGS HEAL with special guests Emily Saliers (Indigo Girls), John Keane (GRAMMY nominated producer and musician), Michelle Malone, Ike Stubblefield (Legendary Motown B3) and Randall Bramblett (Bonnie Raitt, Steve Winwood, Allman Brothers). A 2015 national tour opening for the Indigo Girls​ and Caroline continues touring the USA and Europe.

Claudia Paige

Rhythm & Groove Stylist

Claudia Paige is a highly-sought-after drummer who has played with premier musical artists of the 21st century, including Jerry Garcia, Linda Perry, Bonnie Raitt, Tito Puente, Benny Rietveld (Santana), Narada Michael Walden (Aretha Franklin), Randy Jackson (Jean Luc Ponty) Hollis Gentry (Stanley Clarke), Ray White (Frank Zappa) and many more. She has shared the stage with BB King, Ben Harper, George Clinton, Tower of Power and more. Claudia has a very eclectic drumming style, incorporating hand drums from around the world into her drum kit. Raised on swampy funky blues and a love for music from around the world, Claudia weaves together world fusion rhythms, with a funky groove in her “solid in the pocket” feel to the music. She can add that “magic” to your next studio production or live performance. 

Claudia has over thirty years of experience in live performance, recording and music scoring. She has been sponsored for international tours by the Cannes Film Festival, Berlin Loft Concerts, and the United Nations and has performed in eleven countries and forty-eight of fifty states in the U.S.  Claudia toured the country and co-composed music for the San Francisco Mime Troupe, a Tony-Award-winning theater company, for several years.  She has also played drums and percussion for the American Conservatory Theater in San Francisco. 

Claudia is a published BMI artist as well as an independent recording artist. She has worked with many renowned recording studios, such as Motown Records, Capitol Records, Fantasy Records, Skywalker Sound, Lucas Films, the Record Plant and Russian Hill Recording.  She has also appeared on television on Comedy Central, PBS and many local San Francisco stations. Claudia’s drumming has even been used in several indie and full feature films. 

Claudia moved from the San Francisco Bay area to the Pacific Northwest in 2016.  She quickly built a solid performance reputation and now plays regularly with several well-known bands and singers/songwriters. In addition, she is recording throughout the Pacific Northwest and continues to tour with the Druid Sisters, an African Celtic, Gypsy Band she founded in 2003.

Comedian/actor/writer Brian Posehn always has a full plate in front of him. He is constantly touring as a stand-up comedian in the best comedy clubs and rock venues in the country. 2013 marked the release of his first hour long special, The Fartist, through Netflix. Brian is currently writing a book to be released in 2017. His latest specials “25×2” and “Criminally Posehn” can be seen on SeeSo. He has a popular podcast, Nerd Poker, on the Earwolf Network.

Brian co-starred in Universal’s feature, The Five-Year Engagement, directed by Nick Stoller and produced by Judd Apatow and in the popular Canadian indie comedy, Lloyd the Conqueror. In the last year he has done guest spots on the sitcoms, The Big Bang Theory, You’re the Worst, Guys With Kids and Anger Management. He also starred for three seasons in Comedy Central’s popular show, The Sarah Silverman Program, and toured as one of the original members of the Comedians of Comedy.

Besides writing and performing on HBO’s acclaimed Mr. Show, he has appeared in sitcoms such as Just Shoot Me, Seinfeld, NewsRadio, Californication, Everybody Loves Raymond and Friends. He also has an extensive resume in voice-acting including Aqua Teen Hunger Force, Adventure Time, Metalocalypse, Bob’s Burgers, Mission Hill and American Dad.

Brian has also appeared in several movies, including Judd Apatow’s Funny People, Rob Zombie’s The Devil’s Rejects, Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer, Sex Drive, and Surfs Up.

He has written episodes of The Sarah Silverman Program and Metalocalypse (Adult Swim). He’s written for the popular sketch show, Human Giant and various specials and roasts including recent stints on the Oscars and The Comedy Central Roast of Rosanne Barr. In 2009 and 2010, Brian directed a video and a Comedy Central pilot for the hilarious hair metal band, Steel Panther.

In 2006 he released his first graphic novel, The Last Christmas, and his debut comedy album: Live in Nerd Rage. In 2009, Brian released his album, Fart and Weiner Jokes.

2013 also marked the release of a book co-written by Brian with Bob Odenkirk and David Cross called Hollywood Said No. He is also currently producing a Comedy Metal album with Scott Ian.
